If I was Sakurai, I would still not put in Ridely the purple dinosaur or K rool the villain no one talks about and just add Layton seeing how he is extremely popular in America and Japan.. And maybe add Toadette, maybe.

Honestly, I think the first three games are fine as they are so I wouldn't change them. However, in Smash 4, I would have probably kept the clones as alternate costumes and used the time it took to create them to give more color swaps to Wario and Olimar. I would have also replaced the Miis with three other characters. One of them being Mewtwo.

If I were Sakurai, I'd probably mess things up with Smash Bros. so I think I'll just leave the development of all Smash Bros. games to Sakurai, as it should be. I am in no way qualified to be a developer, nor do I have the stamina, mental fortitude and dedication to creating a game of such colossal magnitude within a budget and time constraints. I've yet to be unsatisfied with what Sakurai has created so I see no reason, at least for myself, to pretend like I am Sakurai just to change things MY way. I may be taking this topic too seriously but I do feel that dreaming about what could have been in the game is rather pointless and only bitters the overall experience of a game. Just my two cents on the subject and feel free to disagree or say I'm wrong because everyone feels differently about this subject, which is perfectly fine.

Well really, the roster in each Smash Bros. game since the inaugural game on the N64 are fine as it is...well except Jigglypuff (they would've inserted Charizard instead and it would've been one of the original 12, not that balloon creature).

Mario would be the ONLY character for the fourth game. Except Green Mario. He's unlockable, with Fat Yellow Mario as DLC.

And as far as for a Super Smash Bros. 5 is concerned, I would bring back every SSB4 newcomers as veterans except Bowser Jr., remove Jigglypuff and Sonic and bring back characters like Roy, Wolf and Snake. For the newcomers...well...there aren't really that many characters I could think of that would work in Smash Bros. except Dixie Kong, Impa and Chrom. I would also throw in Agnes Oblige from Bravely Defailt as well.

I've added the characters supposed to be in the game (Mewtwo, Bowser, and K DDD, and added 3 more villains (Wario because of being a new popular character, Wolf because Star Fox was pretty popular, and Ganondorf to support the new Zelda game)

Melee - I only have two random slots for being even. Characters cut - CLONES! Added (onto previous roster) Paper Mario, Captain Syrup, Diddy Kong, Skull Kid, Suicune, Blaziken, Pit, Metaknight, Banjo Kazooie, and Snake.

Paper Mario - to represent Mario rpgs, and give a unique character with an upcoming game on the GCN

Why Blaziken? Pokemon Ruby&Saphire came out a year after Melee, so it would build the game hype, The new person overlooking pokemon at the really like Blaziken as a pokemon, and was featured in the anime to fight Ash's Charizard.

Why Suicune - More Significant than pichu, being on a main title with Crystal, with actual plot elements.
Banjo Kazooie - Really Popular at the time

Mona - to represent Warioware
Krystal - a new fresh Star Fox character thats not a male mammal
Chibi Robo - more ROBOTS
