If Smash Had A Boring Layout

There are actually some aspects about this format that I like better. Guess that makes me boring... :[ If Smash was strictly a 1 vs. 1 fighting game, it might look like this. Reminds me of the Tekken layout. Although I don't like how Ness is almost completely obscured...

Nice. I want to try something like this when I have time this summer.

Actually I like it as well lol!
I was based on old-school fighting games, I like them better. In some games the selected character actually covers part of the selection screen, that's why I left it like that. When you highlight the character it shows semi-transparent (just like Melee and Brawl), that way it doesn't cover any char 'til selected.

I just realized I left a huge space to the left compared to Yoshi <_<

Nice use of the Star Wars font :)

I find it interesting that you incorporated the Melee graphics over the Brawl renders. But, no Pichu? I applaud you on the sacrifice of the little rat for a Random spot.

When composing a roster though, you need to really consider the feng shui of it. What characters will make up the corners? What characters will make up the center border spots, creating a cross? What characters will surround the center spot? Also, the colors and form of each and every character contributes to the overall balance of the roster. I see your roster as one that starts out very colorful at the top, but upon descending, gradually decreases in saturation as you transcend from Mario, Luigi, Peach, and the like to Ganondorf, G&W, Marth, Ness and such.

Fox and Falco should definitely be together. If Marth and Roy (his clone) can be together, so can Fox and his clone. If I were designing this, I'd put the four Zelda characters in the center because they act as a nice fulcrum. Link and Ganondorf flanking the Random spot, with Young Link to Link's left, and Zelda to Ganon's right (as he always captures her in the games and her name, starting with Z, should place her at the end of the row). I know it may sound incredibly insignificant, but these small tidbits add up in the grand design scheme.

Yeah, I do know that, I would have ordered them according to Universe but my lazyness took over lol. If I'm bored again I'll redesign it :) If I'm SUPER bored and have a lot of free time, I'll make a Flash animation out of it.

Thanks for the reply.
