They did OK because everyone there had a piece of crap controller.
Who knows why they did ok -.-. We don't even know until we experience the game. Don't make assumptions before it's out. It's not over 'til the big game smashes.

If you're a decent brawler you'll notice if you're playing a cpu.

Jump Fest Confirmed that compter suck, so you'll probably be able to tell.

In a friend match It'll probably announce D/Cs.

Also to tell fi ti's a CPU:If it taunts the instant that you lose a stock.(For melee at least)
Uh, that doesn't confirm anything. They could have used L1 CPUs in the demo for all we know.

Unless the CPU is very advanced, I think it may become obvious who's a computer and who isn't. The human aggression is still there though since you are fighting real people. It's still worth it.

I really hate all these complaints about this mode. This will be the greatest thing to ever happen to Smash and people complain about it non stop.

Sakurai is definitely doing the right thing by not telling us that your opponent has left..because he doesn't want us to know we're fighting a computer. That way we can keep on fighting like we normally were. This random match mode will definitely help people out. Think of Melee...so many people have asked how to practice on their own and get better when they don't have friends around...and this is definitely the solution. It's the ultimate training mode. You can practice your combos and mindgames on an actual human without having to find a match and set up all the bull**** normal online games go through. Just a quick and easy way to fight a real opponent who has mindgames.

but what if Sakurai decides to put in ranked matches? how will computers work? will your win still count as a win against that person?, how about a loss? Will you get the win no matter what? and how about the new players that arnt good yet and everyone quits so that they fight lvl.9's which they arnt used to yet.

But this is only if he implements it which i doubt he would do but if he does, these are some things to think about.

Ahhh, FOOLS! You've stumbled onto a sinister plot! It's right in front of you, how could you not see it! HE DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW WHEN SOMEONE LEAVES, you know why?! Because there really is no online mode! However, with this new system you cant prove anything!

What? You're playing a CPU? Hmm, that's funny! The player must have left!

HAH! OR MAYBE HE WAS NEVER THERE AT ALL!

Or you could be playing a first-time player who has no idea what they're doing in the game. There's no doubt that the AI tends to be pretty dumb, but there are players who actually are worse than them, and with a mode that matches us up with literally anyone, it's very possible to have to face a very poor player. Now if there is a significant change in the "player's" behavior, not limited to just their skill level, then it's a good chance that the AI has replaced the human player.

They can't give Cpus friend codes say you and your friend live close to each other but oh no your sick on a Saturday well you have friend codes right you call him and tell him to go onto an online brawl match with you. There you go you know he's not a computer also if the suddenly start saying stuff like Beep bop boop zoip smash overload my head aboot to asplode! then you know there Cpus also again they can't give cpus friend codes now can they?

Exactly, they may play much different than the way we play or something along those lines. You didn't exactly watch them fight or hear it directly.
