Faster than Melee, improved yet similar physics, more characters with the most potential, a large focus on something other than Final Smashes...

Don't you think it'd get a better reaction? I mean, you can say "We still have to figure out Brawl!" all you want, but it's visible, and most people see it, Brawl is literally just a simpler game than Melee.

This mainly to the people who fail to realize that Brawl's lack of technicality has nothing to do with it's age.

And this has been pointed out how many times now and your expecting a completely different reaction then the last two dozen times?

this is isnt melee.

welcome to the next generation ding dong.

life wasn't always simple so give marth a HUGE break from "wavedashing".

and how long did it take for people to realize that melee had those special techniques in the first place? you'll never know that brawl might have better. they added new characters for a reason you know -.-

Your ideas sound like those of someone who is clinging on to melee and unwilling to change. Brawl may never be as technical as melee will, and having those things would generate a much more positive reaction from people who were highly dedicated to melee and who dislike brawl's slower gameplay. But even though melee will always be more technical, brawl has it beat when it comes to strategic play. In fact, now that there is even less tech skill, more will be expected of the player to fully maximize his own strategies with his character in order to succeed. So while you may have the right idea for "melee 2.0" , brawl will still be advanced, just in a different way.

Also, spend less time on final smashes? If i recall, people were complaining because they didn't spend ENOUGH time developing unique final smashes (landmaster, anyone?).

All in all I kind've like Brawl. I'm not 100% satisfied with the character selection, but that's fine. I mean... There's other things I don't like... But eh. I'll still play the game. Honestly, there's only one issue of Brawl that I hate:

The online play. It's simply bad. I'm not talking about the lag and connection issues, either -- Those will be fixed. I'm talking about how anti-social it is. I was really hoping that the game at the least would have a rival system so that you could meet new people, play online with them regularly, form a community, basically matchmake and become familiar with opponents -- Adding them to your friends list, etc. On top of that leaderboards, and a skill-matching rank system would of been ace. Unfortunately, we instead get a system that only allowed you to play with friends you already know in advance, or randoms who -- After the match is over -- Disappear forever.

That's just depressing. I don't like Nintendo implying that I should have real friends, heck, I don't even WANT to make real friends in real life so I can enjoy a videogame. I don't get along very well with people in real life, so y'know, I wanted this to be a go-to online game. That's the only REAL flaw with the game, honestly. You can't network in-game. :psycho:

Yeah, I agree. I play Halo 3 all the time and I'm not trying to compare the two but lack of online features for Smash is a little disappointing.

As for technical aspect, we all know it's not "Melee 2.0" Like Frames mentioned, definitely more strategic play/mind games.
