Haha, a sophomore is a year 11. Second year of highschool = second year of GCSEs. Year 7 would be 6th grade (a sophomore in highschool is 10th grade).

Unless you have a different system to England. I always assumed the Aussie system was mostly the same.
The American system actually has 12 grades plus Kindergarten. K-5 is Elementary School generally, while 6-8 is Middle School, leaving 9-12 for High School. In High School the first year (9th grade) is Freshmen, 2nd (10th grade) is Sophmore, then comes Junior and lastly Senior.

How the hell are you allowed to bring something like a Gamecube to school? I need information...

1) Your teachers have GOT to be nice to let you do that. Who lets you?
2) Where do you play? Like, what type of room?
3) How long do you have to play it? Lunch isn't that long, and off periods.....?

Please, I want to know so I can do this as well.....

That's the problem I have here, when the teachers give us an inch we make a mile which results in the banning of the activity. We can't even bring cell phones to school [I still do it anyway, but I keep it off until school ends] because ******* like keeping them on [with their ring tones on] just so they can get messages from their friends or whatever stupid reason they do it.

I'm pretty sure if we didn't have uniforms we'd have a problem with clothes too.
Teens (not all though) these days. They just don't understand the value of property nor are they grateful when they get priviledge.

In mah high days (college junior now) we were grateful and respectful and... heck who am I kidding? lol

e much the same -- we take a lot of what you guys do and do much the same.

...Accept better! :flame:
O RLY? :p

For some reason, there aren't a lot of stupid sophmores this year for me, although the freshmen are absolutely ****ing idiots.

One day, my friends and I were hanging out in the student activities center (where the Dean's and Admissions' office was moved to at the beginning of the year), discussing games. When I went to say what my favorite game on the N64 was, one of the freshmen said "********** five?" We glanced over at him with a "wha?" look, and he said "You know, the '**********' series, every game released on ***tendo's gay-*** systems". The kid was wearing a Halo 3 T-Shirt and looking up Jack-Ass: The Movie vids on YouTube, and in the other tab playing some Zombie FPS Flash game. I told him to look up a cool game on the internet called "QQQQQ" on some obscure .biz website, and looking for it with "I'm Feeling Lucky" was the only way to get there directly. When he asked if it was something like Two Girls One Cup or Meatspin, because "that **** is for ***s." He did it. He backs up from the computer and turns to me shouting "YOU'RE A ****ING ***GOT! A ****ING ***GOT ***** DONKEY ****!". Needless to say, that's not the best thing to yell out next to the Dean's office, considering he's a hard-*** on respect with students in an all-male school where comment such as that can result in suspension, ESPECIALLY when he's in with the door open. The Dean called him in, and we could see him talking to the kid in the window who was in tears by the time the Dean stopped talking. The kid went out, and the Dean asked the Attendance receptionist for the school phone directory, probably to call his parents.

Don't even get me started on the Filipino Student Union, biggest collection of dumb-***** in the Bay Area.

Lmfao. that's hilarious. And i like the "charge them to play" idea. be richer than any kid in the school by the end of the year you would.

Anyways, here's how my school system works. (I live in australia, btw, not that it's particularly relevant to anything.)

We have Prepatory, i think it's probably the equivalent to the US Kindergarten.
Then we have early years, where all the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th years are supposed to be.
Next we have Middle years, with 5, 6 7 and 8 years are.
And then we have Later years. with year 9s, 10s and 11s and 12s. Conveniantly, only year 11 and 12s are seniors, so we can kick anyone out of an area whenever we want.

PLUS, to rub the salt in the wound after kicking them out, we bring a gamecube in and start playing Smash on our off-periods and Lunch. They get jealous and try and stop us from playing, not that they can.

well, they brought in their own game cube with smash and have left us alone, which is fine with us. The teacher who normally lets us play in his room started wondering, and thought there was a "rift" forming in the Games Society (gay name isn't it). He talked to them and heard that we had "Run them out" and started to scold us in the way that only teachers can. I told him about the part with the chair, threatening, and cowering, and he said "Where was I during this?!?!" and we told him that it happened in "backup room #1" and we told him that we basicly said "You cannot play untill you behave properly" he agreed with us and went to talk to them.

problem almost solved

(edit) and the reason that we feel safe having a game cube left at school is A- our school is 5 years old. B- we live in Fort Collins, A.K.A Vanilla Valley, and C- the teachers room that we keep it in is by far the schools favorite teacher, and nobody would steal from him.

My school system is weird, I don't fully understand it.

There's Primary school that goes:
Reception [4-5yrs]
Infants A
Infants B
Class 1
Class 2
Class 3
Class 4 [senior]* [10-11yrs]

Then there's Secondary School that goes:
First Form
Second Form
Third Form
Fourth Form [Senior]
Fifth Form [Senior] [Graduation] [15-16yrs]
And in some schools Sixth Form** [senior] [16-18yrs]

*Every year other than the senior year is as junior year.

**You can choose to do Sixth form [2 year course] or go to College or whatever after Fifth form, apparently it's so you have better grades when you leave Secondary school but that's a bunch of bull****, I've been wearing lame *** uniforms and follow dumb rules like no cell phones/electronics since I could remember, I want out.

If you can't tell, I hate my school system. Apparently when teachers go on strike it's still "a normal school day", or when we have sports at a venue other than the school it's "a normal school day". I wish I could punch the Principal and the Minister of Education in their mouths, how is it a normal school day if I'm not being taught anything? ****ers.
