Q: Is there a Written Federal Income Tax Law?

So basically I want something cool from you, along with the questions its caused you to have?

Do not think you can pay taxes even if this is true. Tax evasion is a serious offense and the police is not going to take "Well I heard on an internet forum that it does not exist in writing" as an excuse.

I was always confused as to whether you have to file your income tax.

I think the deal is that there is no written law in the place where it says you're not allowed to steal cars, for example, but the IRS has its own by-laws or whatever that describe how income tax works.

There is an amendment to the Constitution saying that Congress is allowed to levy income taxes, although a few people think that amendment is invalid because it wasn't passed by enough states or they changed the commas to semicolons after it had been signed or something.

I believe that what happens is, whether or not there is a written law, you have to file your income tax or face criminal charges.

As for the IRS agents who say they haven't filed any income tax after they resigned, I just don't know. Maybe the US doesn't want to fight them in court because they actually know exactly what's going on.

As for me, I think paying my income tax would be a lot cheaper than the legal fees for fighting it, and I might lose anyway (as I believe several people have in court).

I guess that's the US for you.

EDIT: This is all meant in a future tense, as I won't be filing any taxes for another few years, I think.

This is not about discussing the right or wrong, but more or less just getting someone to think.

here is another example:
VEGETARIANS DIE YOUNGER. Oh, they tell you they're healthier, but census data shows the opposite. Plus...

VEGETARIAN KIDS ARE SICKLIER. The Archives of Pediatric Adolescent Medicine reports that children reared on these diets are at higher risk for 'impaired psychomotor development.
* VEGETARIAN DIETS WON'T EVEN MAKE YOU MORE REGULAR. Even teenage vegetarians are 8 times more likely to use laxatives!

I never like the idea of a vegetarian diet. I just don't think you can get nearly the same amount of protein without eating any meat. There's supplements, like soy or whatever, but that's hardly healthy to rely on (soy is not healthy at all, just that a little while ago it was the new miracle dairy substitute).
Think about it. The human body has been omnivorous for thousands of years. It works at peak efficiency that way. I'm not going to sacrifice that for a purely symbolic show of protest.

here's something to think about: there is a school of thought that believes that the single most useful plant on the planet is... BAMBOO. It's immensely strong as a building material, several strains are edible, and it grows very quickly. I'm not going to bias you with an initial source, but here's Wiki to get you started.

Q: Do I have to eat meat?
it actually depends
most vegetarians (over 95% IMO) do not know how to diet properly this way and this is why the census is what it is
it's not something that you can just switch to and automatically be healthier

though you can be equally healthy eating meat and vegetables
we are all omnivores, but some of us refuse to eat meat
i am not one of these people and i will eat meat

but still i think eating organic food is the best way to be healthy!
