I definitely did not write this @.@
---
This morning I was awoken by my alarm clock, powered by electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the US Department of Energy. I then took a shower in the clean water provided by the municipal water utility. After that, I turned on the TV to one of the FCC regulated channels to see what the National Weather Service of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration determined the weather was going to be like using satellites designed, built, and launched by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. I watch this while eating my breakfast of US Department of Agriculture inspected food and taking the drugs which have been determined as safe by the Food and Drug Administration.

At the appropriate time as regulated by the US Congress, and kept accurate by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the US Naval Observatory, I get into my National Highway Traffic Safety Administration approved automobile and set out to work on the roads built by the local, state, and federal Departments of Transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the Environmental Protection Agency, using legal tender issued by the Federal Reserve Bank. On the way out the door, I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the US Postal Service and drop the kids off at the public school.

After work, I drive my NHTSA bar back home on DOT roads, to a house which has not burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and Fire Marshal’s inspection, and which has not been plundered of all its valuables thanks to the local police department.

I then log on to the internet which was developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration and post on FreeRepublic.com and Fox News forums about how SOCIALISM in medicine is BAD because the government can’t do anything right.

Incidentally, I feel uncontrollable raaaaaaaage at the sight of Glenn Beck's face, and for he longest time, I didn't know why.

I saw this the other day. Really good read.

We should bash news people we hate in this thread, but I'll keep my mouth shut until someone else does it first >.>

Not that I particularly agree about Socialism vs Free Market (I perfectly understand both sides of the argument, and I think it's silly to claim that there is one correct answer), but...

Bill O'Reilly makes me want to vomit every time I see his face. He spouts off the biggest piles of BS on the planet on so and so is the worst and this is how it should be, and then talks about him protecting is first amendment right to freedom of speech when anyone calls him out.

And then he whines non-stop about how such and such random blog should be shut down just because they disagree with him.

That's why as much as I think Micheal Moore is really just another hack with some opinion, I respect him after at the end of Sicko, he sent a check to the guy who had the Anti-Micheal Moore website that had to shut it down for his wife's surgery or whatever.

The thing that really gets me about men like, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Beck and Hannity is not their hypocrisy, blustering or their complete disregard for reasoned, intelligent discourse, but the fact that despite, and even because of, all of the above, they are respected and elevated by an evidently significant number of Americans.

It's not to say it only happens one the right wing, either, but I feel like when I see left wing commentators who are as overblown and absolutely ridiculous as those four men, they are silenced quickly and authoritatively by cooler heads from their own side of the aisle. No one in the Republican Party seems to have the balls to renounce these idiots, and so they are literally gaining an authoritative voice. It's unbelievable to me.

---------------

Michael Moore has a really good sense of showboating, and at his heart, he's a deeply moral person (so much so that he makes very angry movies about anything that does not conform to his morals). Occasionally, his proclivity for charity and his sense of showboating combine and he does something really respectable in an incredibly public way.

Not to discredit his actions, but whether or not Moore would have sent that check if he weren't making Sicko at the time, you can be **** sure there's a very good reason it's in the movie now that he's done so.
