I think I am allergic to Doc.

For captain falcon, I am good against everyone but doc for some reason.
1. I seem to always have trouble getting grabs off even when they are correctly tech chased. I always get tapped, smashed, grabbed, up-b'd
2. I always get caught into his combos, for some odd reason.
3. I suddenly am like I hate docs.
4. The pills don't bother me much so no need to bother them.

Just advice would be helpful.

Surprised you did not mention the cape ... if anything that's the only problem i have with him.

Try aerial combos.

You don't even have to focus on comboing the Doc. Tech chase and knee him. Seriously. Also pivots work amazingly well against Doc because he has to get close to hit anyways.

I play Docs all the time, so really, Uair is your friend.

General rule of thumb (that works for me anyway), Uthrow generally leads to Uair, and Dthrow leads to Nair.

At really low percentages, either Uthrow > full hop double Uair, or Dthrow > regrab > Dthrow > Nair > whatever.

At low to medium percents, Nair > grab works wonders.

At medium to high percents, Dthrow > Knee. If you don't think you can knee out of the Dthrow, chances are you'll be able to Uair, then Knee.

When edgeguarding Doc, always reset your invicibility frames on the ledge as long as you can, because he's gonna try to pill > upB you, which is a free stage spike.

I think around 60% and up (not sure but it's a good estimate) stomp > knee.

If for some reason he's surviving at a really high percentage Dthrow > Uair will do the job.

If you're edgehogging, and he's in upB range, he might tornado stall, so watch out for that. If he's in range to hit you with it, you need to get off the ledge because it'll stage spike you (unless you reset your invincibility frames). If he's not in range to hit you with his tornado stall, just wait there to roll when he upBs.

When you're recovering, you either need to recover as high as possible above his capes and Bairs, or as low as possible backwards, to avoid Bairs all together and the cape. Remember that your upB has a window where you can grab the ledge no matter what way you're facing.

Hope this helps :).

I already do the backwards recovery, so his cape doesn't bother me.

falcon shouldnt be falling for tap smash though, for those, ud just need to be consistent on shielding reflexes after the tap, but be sure if hes going to grab, then dont sit there and shield.

approaching with nairs is ur best bet, and use bairs to edgegaurd is really good, since u cant really stay on the ledge and wait, cause the pills will be there to be in ur way.

i forgot what percentages it is, but its probably around 80-90% where u can dthrow to knee, and its auto ko by then, since doc isnt heavy, and his recovery licks balls.

just keep ur distance with nairs, doc cant really do anything, except to try and pill through it, but ur nair breaks pills, or doc will roll into u during ur lag, but nair has so little lag, so it makes it hard for doc.

Try to analyze how much he pills. If he throws too many, you have an opening. If he throws too few, you have an opening. Use attacks with a lot of range because Doc's arms are so stubby. I use doc and play falcons all the time and I'm forced to use ftilts a lot for spacing. Whatever you do, save your 2nd jump and recover high. Air dodging towards the stage to avoid bair helps.

edit: accidentally pressed submit

Don't tech chase as much. Tech punish instead. If he doesn't tech, shield next to him and grab after he does a wake up attack or roll. Or even straight to a knee works.

Don't try to attack while he's doing nair. Something that I do that seems to work a lot is full hop nair and fast fall it down above falcon. Falcon is fast enough to run away from this.

Don't get jab mindgamed. This means not shielding or even sidestepping after a jab. Instead, it's smarter to move away after he jabs you.
