Hi there! Im IV and I would like some very experienced foxes to analyze my fox as to what I am doing wrong/what I can improve. The following vid is a set of 2 matches vs a falco, fox's ever-so-friendly comrade...I ask that you help me with my anti-falco in particular. Thanks in advance; you guys are the best!

By the way, this is volume 2 because I had a previous thread of the same name that featured me vs link. Thanks to you guys' advice, I now rarely lose to that link; HOWEVER, I have had to create a new thread because a stupid argument erupted and SilentWolf closed my thread, so please STAY ON TOPIC!

I watched this one:

My advice: Work on waveshining, thunder's helps a lot vs. falco. I suggest that you not jump/sh out of your shine unless you're going for a shine spike, waveshine is a lot better you can tech chase into grab if thunder's too hard for you. Keep training and improving

Regarding that second video...

You made awesome use of that Reflector there. Your main flaw is your dodging. You focused too much on shielding, and as a result, got threw around by Falco. So make better use of your wavedashing, and you might wanna Crouch Counter a few to your enemy's surprise. Fox is a really fast character, you wanna put that speed to use for dodging and attacking quickly.

I only watched a bit.. But I notice you run off the edge a lot to try to shine spike them.

I think your timing is a bit off with the shine, or your just doing it at the wrong times. Always go for it when their under the stage and HAVE to up+b to recover.

But it's safer to edgegaurd from the stage with tilts or any other attacks.. and just keep shining after aerial lol :-]

I'd say use less shine spikes, first of all... it gets very predictable when you start doing it 4-5 times a match... pull it out once or twice when they are below the level and not expecting it (although the gimp on FD was really good)... also more shffls might help, and mindgame him... make him think you're going to do something, and do something else... DI might help too, depending on how good your opponent is at predicting it... that's all I have to say...

Are you a fox player? I hope fox is not your main.

" pull it out once or twice when they are below the level and not expecting it" they'll always expect it and they'll always wont escape it(if done away from the stage to prevent ASDI onto the stage and tech, or a normal tech)

asdi...

it still confuses me. Anyways, I think shine-spiking is a good thing too. But as Chaos said, you shouldn't abuse it. You'll get too reliant on it, and it might take away from your ledge-guarding game in general. You'll instinctively go for shine-spikes when ftilts or bairs would suffice. Its a known fact.

Don't jump out if it's a Falco out of shinespike range, especially if you're going to stay horizontal to him so he can Illusion you down, that's sillier. Running straight at him is supier silly, I didn't see any mindgames or fakes or anything of the sort. I saw suicides, don't do that. It looked like you were doing things to try and prove you could do them. And you couldn't.

The Falco wasn't great either, you could benefit from a better opponent who isn't going to allow you to do that stuff without getting a stock taken off instantly.

What he means is:

You and your friend aren't that bad. Work on your edge-guarding and not getting unnecessarily flashy.

Oh, and practice your tech. stuff too. ;)
