Some combo's will only connect at certain %s. This means that a certain dmg range will get the character in the right spot in the air for you to chain aerials. You can proceed to jump and use nair/uair and chain those from there to keep juggling, ending in a knee.

Try on a marth in training mode. Right from 0% you can up throw and jump to chain some nairs. Now try Ganon...you'll see you need him about 50% dmg before you can chain a good combo of nair/uair to knee. You can also try side b to send them up, but percents might differ for that. You just have to check what percents are best for certain characters.

Fast fallers...(space animals >.>)...won't get air comboed so easily. For them, a good dair to knee at 70% or so will do just fine.

L-cancel everything, you will have to SHFFL most airs as well if you want the whole combo to work. One tip is to use c-stick for uair shffl'ing...much much easier and doesn't cause un-needed DI.

what character are you trying to combo?

If it is just practicing: Marth, Ganon, Link are probably the easiest to start with.

For space animals though tech chasing is the main form of "comboing."
