Since 2012 I have always wanted to make my own platform fighter. As the years went by and I made characters for several different projects now "Cackling Pumpkins" If I ever did make this game I'd want it to start the characters I've made over the years.
And if this ever does come to be my favorite thing would be designing it as I am both an artist and an animator. Here are sheets of ideas for alternate colors for some of my characters
Characters in order (Click "Spoiler" to see the colors")
Alice Darksin - from "Alice Darksin" by bloody edgy webcomic on Webtoon (Chapter 4 updates tomorrow!): https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/alice-darksin/list?title_no=399812
Tug the Penguin + Blake the Bisexual Boxers & Jack the TERROR Skull - from "Tug & Friends" a comedy series featuring these 3 on their day to day life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzwWGaqdSCE&t=912s
Turbo - The face of my Let's Play series RED ROOM now called RED ROOM+: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnmOJ77_IvA&t=204s
Cartoon Asylum = Face of my webseries "Cartoon Asylum" where I talk about horror topics in animation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V487bahsIqU
General Rigatoni - Main character of my 2019 Animated/Live Action Comedy short "Spaghetti Wars" : https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/737389
If I had to choose the archetypes they would be (and this is long before I have even started any possible development) I would say...
-Alice would be a brawler similar to Little Mac, Ryu and Captain Falcon but more brutal like a Mortal Kombat character as she loves violence
-Tug would be a projectile ranged character like Link, Samus and Snake as his friends Blake and Jakc would be used as the projectiles as Tug himself would be saved for physical attacks
-Turbo would be an all around fighter like Mario as he is based on Platformers and video games in general
-Cartoon Asylum would be a tank (was going to be a grappler but I think I have a better idea for that)
-General Rigatoni would be a zoner but more like Snake as he could lay traps and explosives
As for the colors each of them are based on either their series or their themes. For example all of Alice Darksin's colors are based on other characters of the webcomic that appear very early on and Turbo is based on other variations of Turbo and those related to him (The Researcher of Magic is his creator)
Tug is based on Holidays and Events as Tug & Friends episodes coming during that time
Cartoon Asylum is based on different eras of animation and famous cartoon characters from those times
and General Rigatoni is based on both Spaghetti types and Military statuses
So what do you think? Do you like the alts? The characters themselves? Would you play a Smash-like game featuring these characters? Feedback is much appreciated!!
UPDATE-7/15/2020: Added a sword fighter! Kuvera from my 14 episode audio story series from 2019 "Crimson Kingdom Lore"
All of his colors are based on the 13 Guardians of Reality the series talks about. 1 Color is a combination of 2 guardians as they are brothers and share a nearly identical color scheme.
