We don't look back at MLG matches and go "lol that ken guy is such a scrub!" because we now that the metagame has developed, and it's not like Wombo Combo is the only video in existence of Zhu.

I think most of the people that matter are able to look at past competitive play with context. KishPrime put the concept very well in this thread.
For example, we know now that the combos that Ken did against Bombsoldier aren't possible without DI that assists them, but that doesn't make them any less impressive for the time.
