i just got ***** by a squirtle.

i need some advice. his pivot/hydroplaning really messes me up, and then he gets in close and combos like crazy with jabs and tilts. i can't shield grab much, either, because he constantly throws and he's too fast to punish with nana for grabbing popo. i'm not used to playing people as fast as squirtle, but i could use some advice cuz i got killed...

play defensively, there's not much squirtle can do to get past blizzards

light characters are easy to cg, perfect your timing when you do grab him

he may have low lag and good range on his tilts/jabs, but at least you can still shield grab them

hydroplaning is confusing but just stay put and use blizzards, his usmash has good range but it won't get through your blizzard

squirtle's hard to predict

but if possible with good enough defense u can either work in a grab and cg him...

or even stall him until he has fatigue, by then you have even more chances to grab and cg him because his attacks are weaker and will less likely KO you
