I hope there are still multiple ways to unlock characters.

That way, if you are stuck trying to get a character one way, you have an alternative. That really helped me in Melee.

Yeah, and Mr. G&W, as I'm not that great at target test. Young Link's target stage was frustrating, because of the wall kicking.

Anything is better than the pitiful conditions for 64, but I don't like Melee Luigi's xx:x2.xx time on 1 level in 1 mode.

In Melee, the alternate conditions made unlocking characters the easiest thing you ever did in a video game. Just have a bunch of VS. matches. Eventually you'd unlock everyone.

You mean like playing X#### VS. fights? Maybe, although I think Sakurai should stick to giving out 2 ways to each character, as I prefer to have a variety or simply have fun finding the methods to unlock them and the second one, well, do what I said in the beggining of this post. Fight a number of battles.

Hopefully, he won't exagerate, like when I tried to unlock Mewtwo.

I really hope there he keeps the multiple methods too. That way I can unlock such and such by playing 700 vs. matches and still be surprised. If the original method was really complicated I would have to posslibly spoil myself on the internet/guidebook to see how to fill in that question mark box. I don't care if I unlock a character by vs mode or the "correct" way. It's been so long since i first unlocked all the characters, but I'm sure played vs matches to get some, sense I didn't go on the internet much.

I enever unlocked anyone through a 2nd method, so It doesn't bother me, but I guess I suppose they could stay.

i think that each unlockable character should have a single and demanding way in order to be playable.......cause the alternate ways in melee were like a prize for the time you've been playing, not because of your dedication.............anyone could do it.

I left two controllers on over night, aand bingo for that. I think everyone did that with multiple controllers though. We all reached over 20 hours cobined, but none of us wantd to wait. At least that's what i think.

It doesn't really matter what i have to do to unlock them, as long as they're in.

Oh and to unlock mewtwo, me and a friend just done 700 super sudden death matches.

I totally agree with the thread creator. I didn't know what to do to unlock characters, and I only unlocked many of the characters by having enough Melee matches.

I'd also like to add that stages should have dual methods for unlocking. Especially Final Destination: For a while, I wasn't good enough to beat all the event matches and get it. It was really annoying.

since there are potentially more to unlock, I think it would be difficult to put in alternate methods. Think about if around 20 characters or so, possibly 30 levels, music, new modes, etc to unlock, they'll have to squeeze in every possible measure to unlock things.

I'm sure he'll keep it in. He wants to keep most aspects of the game accessible to anyone. Characters are a particularly important part of that. =P

I'd hate for some super cool character like Sukapon to only be unlocked by completing super hard adventure mode or something very difficult like that :x

I think brawl will be more harder to unlock some characters than melee...
I don't think so, remember that this game is pointed more for beginners, it'll become alot easier not harder =\

Btw, are you guys serious? When I read online that to get some character you had to fight a 1000 times I just freaked, does it reall pass that fast for you? o.o

I figured that once you played like 600 matches for a character, you should be good enough to unlock him the regular way anyway.

The only character I ever used the VS mode thing for was Mewtwo since it was basically required. I never had a problem with any of the others though. I just left the game on all night and let 2 CPUs fight, and it counted it XD

Since this game is going to be noob freindly. I predict that all charachter will be able to be unlocked thru.

But you could also just play Vs matches or Classics, Stadium and others and having 3 ways to unlock everyway. But you only need to use one way.

That would be terrible, because SSE should only be 2-3 hours long, and I really don't want to unlock every single character in brawl in a single sitting.

If a Nintendo Rep said its good enough to be its own game. Then it will be long enough.

But think about it, It will defintley be more than 2-3 hours long. Youve got multiple paths and the main story should be about 5-8.

Weve got over 30 mins off cutscene and its barely touched the plot yet.

I hated Event Matches, but unlocked everything the old fashioned way unless we were having a VS marathon party and got a few that way. I'd like the VS options around but they aren't essential. In Starfox* Assault they copied the VS mode method, and it was the only way. Annoying as hell, let me tell you.

True, the SSE probably will be a little longer, but Im sure it will hardly be its own game. I'm predicting 6 hours max. And I think it will fature 2 unlockable characters and a stage or something at most.

I didn't have any trouble unlocking anyone in melee, the only annoying one was Mewtwo. I hope we don't have to play VS mode or anything else for a certain amount of time to get someone because it just gets annoying if you lose save data or something.
