I hope the next newcomer announced isn't Krystal.

That isn't to say I don't want her. In fact, I'd love for her to get in. The problem is that characters like her, Ridley, and Claus are considered shoo-ins by most people. So far, the only newcomers that have been exciting since the Dojo have been the Pokemon Trainer and Sonic(arguably) because no one really saw them coming.

We need more characters like them revealed, ones most won't expect. Some examples of these would be Ness (vet but you get the point.), Sukapon, Tom Nook, Kumatora, Captain Syrup, and more.

Anyone agree with me on this?

I agree. When Dedede was revealed I was happy, but it was still "meh" cause everyone knew he would get in. Same goes for Krystal and Ridley, two definite shoe in's. I want him to reveal someone no one expects, or someone with a lot of controversy like an AC character or Geno.

I would like ones that you wouldn't expect also because it would keep people interested and I can learn more about the character, but I want Ridley confirmed. Partly because there is this annoying ****** in school who says Ridley won't be in Brawl, and partly because it is RIDLEY!!!

Updates like diddy kong, and king dedede were pretty boring. how about some unexpected-yet-cool character updates, like takamaru, megaman(yeah, he's also a shoe-in, but he's 3rd party, which is pretty huge), sukapon, or any other character like that.

then again, all(hopefully) will be revealed on dec 15, so we don't have to worry too much.

I agree about Krystal--I'm not against her, but I couldn't care less about her. And while Ridley is expected, it would still be equally exciting and surprising to see him actually get an update. Dedede and Diddy were definitely the most obvious of the newcomers, so it wasn't a huge shock. With PT and (to an extent) Sonic, though, things seemed fresh. Those two really reinvigorated my interest in the DOJO.

I have to disagree about Claus, though. As much as I want him to make it in--he's my top choice!--I think he's far from being a shoo-in for the playable roster. It's hard to say whether or not he'll make it: on one hand, the MOTHER franchise is relatively small in comparison to the rest of the franchises being represented; on the other hand, it seems as though M3 will be getting quite a bit of representation this time around (New Pork City, Lucas, Rope Snake, M3-style Franklin Badge, etc.). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him!

As for the "best" choice for a newcomer, I will pick 4: Ridley, Claus, Sukapon, or (FINALLY!) the elusive Animal Crossing character.

In fact I'd be surprised if we got a playable AC rep at all anymore. The AC Human is the only one I see as really possible.

But I think they should reveal ridley as well, just so we won't have to hear the "whether he's a boss or not" debate anymore. I think he's a shoo-in the game, but not necessarily as a playable character. I'm not a big fan, but I must admit he would please alot of people.

Megaman is not a shoe in. possible, but far from shoe in.

Anyways, I understand with what you are saying. Krystal definately counts as a shoe-in and there's really no doubt, at least in mind, that she'll make it. Personally, I'd be pleasantly surprized by one of these characters:

1. Geno (...more like estatic in this case)
2. Isaac
3. Takamaru (I haven't played Mystery of Murasume Castle but I love the character concept and his theme music is awesome.)
4. Demille
