I have the following:

a vcr (with everything needed to hook it up to the TV)
a blank video tape
a DV camcorder
an AV cable for the camera
a laptop with a firewire port
a firewire cable (used to transfer video from the camera to my computer)
a gamecube with both AV cables and an RF cable


Can I, with any combination of the above things, record some Smash matches and get them onto my laptop?

you should be fine there; the better question is why on earth you keep an RF cable around
