Smash Hero
Well first off, "The Dungeon" is my garage now turned into a room. (So it is nice).
I have read almost all the threads about hosting tournaments, what to prepare for, how to do it, and I have been studying the use of double elimination brackets. What my main concern is space, timing, and the amount of space being used up, by a potential number of people.
I would most likely hold a tournament on a Saturday because I am still in school and that would be the most convienient time. How can I prepare so that I should know what happens at what time during the tournament and everything is on schedule?
Space used and space needed. In this "dungeon" there is room for probably 10 tv's (atleast) around the walls or scattered throughout. It would be a little tight, but it would be competant enough to work. Is there any possibilty that the players will be turned off the amount of space? And since it would be at my house, the concept of waiting throughout the day for you match(s), in such an enclosed position could be a turn off aswell.
Lastly, how can I assure myself about the amount of people attending a tournament. I know pre-registration works, but are their any other methods to have that sense of control? Overcrowded tournament is one of my biggest fears, since the room is NOT gigantic.
Thank you all for feed back and I hope I can get things running right, if I decide to go through with this plan.
(One more thing. Is it okay for one of the players to discuss with another player about counterpicking or should that not be allowed, because I witnessed that against my friend in the last tournament I attended.) Thank you!
