Okay, you know the cursors that go over your character in SSBB? Like 1P,2P,3P, 4P, etc.

Can you turn those off?

If not, do they get in the way of free-for-alls?

That's a good question, but most people here use tagnames anyway. But no, they don't get in the way. You won't even notice them while you're playing.

thanks dude, the reason i ask is because i was watching a vid of a guy playing brawl, and when i looked at the comments someone said the cursors get in the way.

I didn't think they did, but thanks anyways.
