Is there any hack out there that will allow me to navigate the Wii menu with a Gamecube controller?

I know this isn't exactly Smash related, but I didn't know where else to post this question.

Thanks in advance

You could always install BootMii or something.

That'll give you the option of going straight to the HBC from startup using your Cube controller. Then boot the game through Gecko OS or something and you're golden. I believe you can launch channels in Gecko 1.9 as well.

Though BootMii won't install on all Wiis, so this may not even work, sadly. >.>

Not a bad idea, but I'll be forced to buy a new SD card if I do that.

A hack that'll allow users to navigate the Wii menu with a Gamecube controller would be amazing though.

It's been mentioned before all over the place. From what I've read in previous discussions, the gcn ports are disabled during the Wii menu so it's not possible.
I don't know if this is true or not, but it's just from what I've read.

Fortunately, the new Homebrew channel update allows you to install Boot Mii as a...what was it? IOS, or something....

Nintendo could release an update that makes cube controllers always classic controllers. There is no game that uses Cube but not CC. And CC can navigate the system menu.

Or we the hackerz can make a menu patcher...

sounds like a great idea

This is my first post I had to do this before starting a thread.

But for real that sounds like a good idea

hey boing, if a thread is really old and you don't have something MAJOR to contribute, you should let the thread stay where it is...

It's been a while since the thread was made...and I still want very badly. Surely hacking has gone far enough to allow the GC controller to be used on the Wii menu?
