Hey dudes, i picked up falcon a couple months ago, and he is awsome. I can shffl maybe half the time and L cancel a good 80% of the time. Im trying to improve, but one move i wish i could do is the gentleman. I have tried A A then pause A, and i have tried A A then A+Z, but that doesnt work he still goes into the flurry of punches. Is there anything i can do? the flurry of punches is so harbl. Thanks. If there is anything i can do to improve my game then tyty.

AAZ or just AAA works. you just have to get the rhythm and you have to make sure the first punch hits something.

-------------------------------------
Punch 1

Total: 21
Hit: 3-5
Window of the second punch: 3-25
Second punch starts: 9
-------------------------------------
Punch 2

Total: 20
Hit: 5-7
Window of the knee: 2-25
Knee starts: 8
-------------------------------------
Knee*

Total: 12
Hit: 6-12
intermediary animation: 5 frames

NOTE: to get the knee without the
jabs, don't interrupt either punch
animation; instead, hit A after it's
over.

Source: SDM's Frame Data. Odds are you're just doing it too fast.

AA fast, then A + Z at the same time, all the hits have to connect, don't hit any other buttons after you do this, hit Z on the right side of the button not the left.

It's the easiest way you're just doing it wrong probably.

ive done the gentleman on nothingness before, i've found a pretty good consistant way to get it down is A -->A-->Hold A
You just have to get the rhythm down

I experimented with some different techniques and the only two that were consistent for me were just doing AA (pause) A (hold for a second, you have to experiment with the timing), which can be done at any time, and AAA at any speed (and holding the last A). For the second technique to work though, all the hits have to land. You don't have to hold a direction or do anything with Z.

i like to use chunkylover's technique, which is A, A, A + pressing any direction (preferbably i use forward, but u can use any direction)

actually, technomancer is right.

there are a LOT of methods to doing the gentleman.
the ones i know are
1) the timing method. press A, pause, press A and pause, and finally press A and pause. this method is the ONLY one that works if the first punch does not connect. it is slow, shieldgrabbable, and should not be your main method of doing a gentleman
2) plain o'l AAA
3) light shield AAZ
4) the combo, AA A+Z
5) the tilt, AA forwardA

the last 4 basically all do the same thing (except some put up a light shield and others do not). they can all work or not work based on the exact same reason. i can make every on of these methods work and i can make every one of these result in a rapid punch.

the way to make it work is the 3rd button has to be pressed AFTER the second punch has already connected.

the real secret to the gentleman is in the timing of it. the way to do it as fast as isai and spectre and them is to press the first 2 punches as fast as you can, AA. then you need to time the third hit, and it helps to hold the button down longer.

the idea is to play around with all those methods, and find which one helps YOU to time it. personally, i AAZ, i like the light shield, it gives me some semblance of protection after doing a great defensive move.
