if nintendo were to release a brawl channel with a DEMO of brawl

there would only be one stage: battlefield

there would only be 3 playable characters: mario, link, and fox

the demo will have an online versus mode

the demo will state that it is only a beta and that the actual product may in fact be very different.

IF this were to happen, how long before the game is completely ripped apart by players everywhere?

well. you have to remember the nintendo higher ups (reggie films-aime * probably misspelled that*) stated that they will have a special event for brawl. so i am still waiting for this event, because for sure we will get a lot more info there...peace

What about the MP:3 channel? No, it's not a demo, but it is something.

Also, does anyone think Nintendo will enable us to buy an HDD? I know people don't like the idea of a proprietary HDD, but personally I would pay the money to get game demos and who knows what else.

I know this "Demo" would never be created, but some, due to the "Discussion" part of this board, are discussing whether or not it could happen. Yes, it is hypothetical, because it was formed around a hypothesis and has not happened yet. I seriously have no clue where you're coming from. Their actions are rather tenable.

Nobody has, as of yet, answered the question asked by TC.
In my opinion, the answer is, no more than 2 weeks. Too many people would be playing it, and if there were only 3 characters, people would make short work of it. I would expect dozens of people to try and contact Sakurai about how they shouldn't have taken out wavedashing, etc. to try and get them stuck back in, which would be ultimately ignored.
