Oh yeah this game is amazing, the old 3 feel much more like Melee compared to Brawl. And it isn't as bad to play as I thought!

Managed to get a code a few days ago off another site, so the hype has died down. You're in for a treat though - pictures and screens just dont give justice to how gorgeous the game is, and I've only used it on a normal 3DS, not even an XL!

Edit: Stream is down now, but basically it was a version of the game where you could do pretty much everything except unlock stuff.
