How would you feel about Smash Spin-offs based around one Nintendo Series?

What if PokeSmash included all Fighting-types as its roster? That way it can homage and/or parody traditional fighting games while still having a large and diverse, yet realistically-sized roster.

I think part of the appeal of a PokeSmash is the different elemental types. It is a large mechanic, just like evolution, in the Pokemon games. Although there should be a fighting representative.

In all seriousness I think it would be pretty neat to see Nintendo take the basic concept for Smash (a bunch of Nintendo characters get together and fight) and apply it to different genres. Maybe a Mario Party spin-off (lol, a spin-off of a spin-off) in which it was expanded beyond Mario. It would be interesting seeing Zelda or Metroid themed boards with F-Zero or Star Fox themed mini games.

Granted, I'm not sure what Sonic would be doing in a Nintendo racer, but he showed up in Brawl and Wreck-It ****ing Ralph showed up in SEGA All Stars Racing Transformed so stranger things have happened.

Eh, I wouldn't mind seeing Sonic just run. The gameplay in his recent games basically controls more or less like a vehicle anyway. If speed's an issue, just make him run a bit slower than normal (or make everyone drive really fast). Sonic's speed is overpowered in canon, but story-gameplay separation makes sort of nullifies that problem. On the other hand, he certainly has vehicle options. He has a kart in Sonic Adventure 2, two different sports cars from the All-Stars Racing games, and the Extreme Gear from the Sonic Riders trilogy.

I think a series specific fighting game has potentiality, but I doubt it would be smash related. Like I mean I doubt that sakurai would be making that, but instead game freak would make their own team for a straight up pokemon fighting game. I think this is plausible considering the odd games pokemon has made in the past. A fire emblem fighter would suit me better but I doubt IS would do anything not tactically related unfortunately. I do think that Smash bros could very well get a spin off game next so we don't have to wait so long between games again.

The only concern I see with Nintendo Kart is the fact that I have no idea what the Pokemon would drive.

That's a good question to ask, actually. I'm imagining Pokemon Trainer riding a bicycle with Ivysaur sitting in a front basket, using vines to hold onto Charizard, who flies ahead and pulls the bike to make it go faster.

Alternatively, replace the Pokemon with Todd Snap driving the Zero-One.

In the alpha stage of the pokemon series, they imagined the player riding directly on the pokemon.

Also, they had the lead pokemon out of it's pokeball following you around

A lot of the ideas in Pokemon Heart Gold/ Soul Silver with the pokemon out of it's ball and acting when you used it's TM's seemed to stem from red/green's alpha stage

Also, it should have been kept in the game in all future gens
