How would Melee's techniques work in Smash 4's physics?

Do you think that the Melee techniques would make the game better?

I was thinking about this and it got me interested in how the metagame could evolve if the techniques that you can preform in Melee were still in Smash 4. Would the game be better, or would it be a mess.

Minus crouch and l-canceling (just give all the characters less landlag), Melee techs like moonwalking and wave dashing and the original dash dancing would definitely help spice up Sm4sh's meta by giving us more options and a better reason to be aggressive. I also just miss styling on my opponents with those techs and watching others do the same, so it would also make sm4sh a much more spectator-friendly game for sure.

Wave dashing would be good simply by increasing valid approach options, but mostly you could accomplish a ton by just changing the move data(landing lag, hit stun, shield stun, etc) across the cast to be more aggressive/impressive.

Wave dashing and in addition wavelanding would be incredibly helpful for the game. It makes movement along platforms much smoother and allows a variety of options for players to use. L cancelling would be incredibly helpful with offensive pressure. But honestly the problem this game has is landing lag, shield stun(don't get me started) and the knockback values.

If you don't think that they would make the game better you're delusional.

For competitive players? Yes. For everyone else, especially the people who like to play online? No, not at all. I'd LIKE to be able to do them, but it would have destroyed Sakurai's party plan the moment a Melee pro turned on the game.

Moonwalking/crouch cancel dash would help the game greatly without making top play too complex (even with perfect pivoting/roll cancel grabs/whatever, the combos themselves are simple to execute and the neutral still strongly revolves around making hard reads), keeping the game open to pretty much everyone and giving a lot of characters more options.
There are many things that these techs won't fix (as mentioned previously in this thread), but I'd wager it wouldn't break anything, and both of the things I mentioned are things you could easily do (well, honestly, moonwalking requires some practice to perform well and some practice to understand application, but it's useful and pretty fun once you get it down).

No need. Smash4's physics do not cater to Melee techniques, nor do they need to. Each Smash game has its own appeal, part of this one's is its simplicty and relatively low skill floor for competition.

I'd be open to discuss this...but this isn't the place for it.

It's asking a hypothetical in a place where trying to learn and hare info on smash 4 for what it is over what it could be.
