How well does marth do in Teams?

I just started playing teams recently, I'm used to playing singles and FFA. When I play with a partner, I tend to go for the kill then helping him or I tend to get in his way, cuz of that me or him lose a stock or so. My partner plays Ike but he also play Snake, Lucario, Kirby, Pikachu and Marth but most of the time Ike. I would like to know marth's strenghts and weakness in teams and some tips on how I can be a better partner for him so next time I'll won't be stupid to get in his way or try to help him by not hitting when he's gets in the with my Fair combos.

I found Marth quite hard to use on teams. It's hard to help defend your partner while trying to space well against opponents. But hey, that's just me.

Yea, i have massive amounts of trouble consistantly tipping in teams, whereas solo i am quite good at it. I don't exactly know why.

But i suppose that's probably a personal limit rather than a character limit. He doesn't seem to have any qualities that would make him bad, but i can't say for sure.

I don't play too much teams so I'm not an expert on this but I don't like him so much in teams. He always gets hit a lot in the crowd and when he hits back it doesn't have too much knock-back or anything. I found Ike to be far more helpful in teams than Marth...

pretty good if you have a heavy hitter on your team marth can pretty much rack up the dmg so your team mate can finish them off or and people tend to get hit with tippers more often so that might help.

He pretty much stands on the team tier list in the same place he does for singles. Not the best but certainly not someone you should be complaining about.

Marth is pretty good because he is a master at gimp killing (not as good as Metaknight, but oh well). That alone makes him ideal for team play. He is a bit difficult to get down, but overall is a very good team player. Try teaming up against someone that racks up damage easily, such as Snake or Metaknight. Lucario and Pikachu are pretty good along side him as well. Don't team Ike. Don't. No projectiles for either teammates and neither one of them being exceptionally fast equals a no no.

sometimes i use marth in teams. i find it to be an excellent addition if your partner needs a one on one situation at any moment or if you know that the other team isnt paying attention and a FH SB can get an easy hit.

I think he is pretty good, he can get low percent kills via gimp, and with teamwork, tipped f-smash. He can also make a surprisngly good tank.

Eh, I'm playing in a tournament tomorrow. My partner will be Fox, which I think is perfect, as he has long range that doesn't backfire easily, a deflector, and masses of speed, plus that Usmash for a combustible kill move. I'm optimistic.

Also, this may be to my dominant skill amongst people that don't play on my level, but I tend to win teams matches as well as singles.

Good question.
So long as my teammate doesn't get a bad matchup, I usually try and break it up into two one-on-ones. It allows you to focus on spacing rather than worry about a second opponent.

i play doubles with Forward using marth. he plays Pit. pit marth is a pretty good team cause they can juggle back and forth pretty well. we also have this secret team combo that we've thought about but haven't tried yet muahaha.

if you guys want to see some of our doubles matches i have about 20 matches with Forward where I'm using Marth.
