Double elimination and seeding
3 stock, 6 minute
NO ITEMS!
MLG neutral stage and banned stage list
team attack on for doubles

simple as that! ok? but now which brings me to my rant/ discussion!

NO PICKING THE SAME CHARACTER IN THE SAME BEST 2/3 SET IN A TOURNAMENT OR 3/5 (FINALS)!

WHY?

well, instead of just being "GOD" and destroying souls with just one character, how about lets see your skill with other characters you choose to use as well?

i for one am a very good metaknight user, but i love this rule because it allows me to reflect on my abilty to use my other alternates in tournaments.

2) now that you have to PICK a set of characters.. you have to stratagize... do what? use who and when? should i own right away? or save my ace in the hole for last?

3) once again giving a chance to show your true skill, because ive seen some people that are just as good as me with my main, but when i say, wanna do an alt fun fight? they say ok and what.. there alt is horrible and they get 3 stocked. because you didnt put skill into an alt? exactly.

4) its MORE FUN! to be using different characters every round! and have to strategize on how to fight people instead of the same fight over and over again! with most likley the same out come!

"what is double blind?"

double blind is before each round you go up to the host of the tournament and secretley tell him the character you are using for that round first! then.. he announces the match and there you have it!

you dont know who your opponent will use, therefore maknig you ready at ALL TIMES for the best or the worst.

so it would be like..

TBAGZ- METAKNIGHT VS. GOOM- DONKEYKONG.

no way out of it, if i have the upper hand because im metaknight so be it. make up for it in the next round.

lets say i have just beaten my friend goom.

then he picks the counterpicked stage, i pick the character then he picks his character. all advantage towards him.

and vise versa.

and to my final thing.

1ST ROUND- OFFICIAL STAGES
2ND>
3RD> ON ALL OF THESE! you MUST pick a COUNTHER PICKED STAGE!!!!!!
4TH>
5TH>

once again.. "why?" to show you have the ability to fight on other stages BESIDE FD AND BF!!

and before each round.. each player will choose ONE Counterpicked stage to NOT BE PICKED!

so say i say Sky world, and my opponent says halberd neither will be used that set of fights.

comments and questions. feel free to ask. i might update the forum if i noticed i left anything out.

but to be fair, and show you have skills in more ways then one character and maybe 2 OFFICAL maps.. show you are ready anytime, anywhere, any stage, any character of your best 2/3 choice.

and one last thing.. give it serious thought before replying.. think about the topic for a second..

I heard about this rule from my friend who went to your tournament:

NO PICKING THE SAME CHARACTER IN THE SAME BEST 2/3 SET IN A TOURNAMENT OR 3/5 (FINALS)!

Ridiculous imo. Not everyone has a secondary. If this is a tournament and your PAYING, you shouldn't be forcing people to pick other characters when they may not clearly be as good with that character. I know people who play almost every character too, so while you're trying to give someone a fair chance at winning, it's still not because that person is just as skilled with all the other characters.

While I see what you say about 'testing your abilities' that's better left for outside the tournament, and practice and when you're ready to start using your secondaries in tournament. I think there's a reason why people don't use this kinda rule in major tournaments. If your advocating a 'fun only' tournament, then items should be on too.

Also, just because your factors aren't implemented doesn't mean a tournament 'isn't fun', I've been to plenty of tournaments and they are all very fun. Running a tournament shouldn't be based off of seeing it ideally through your eyes, but through the eyes of the people attending. That's how you get people to come back.

Btw gamebattles doesn't count as official for stages. Everyone here on smashboards debates stages and what they should be, there's no set stages.
