how to restore old pics posted?

im looking at old pictures/sigs of mine that i posted a long time ago.
im wondering if anyone know how or if theres even a way to RESTORE! those pics that are just the box with an "X" in it now?

if this is the wrong thread just tell me and a mod could possibly move it =)

It could be that the image hosting site you used has been inactive for too long...

Like when you use Photobucket, imageshack, tinypic or whatever to upload the file to SWF, and your account hasn't been used for a certain amount of days, sometimes the image is removed.

You might have to use the account to make them reappear, or make a new account on one of those sites and reupload them if you still have the files saved on your computer. Just a guess.

Yup, the best thing to do is keep everything backed up onto your computer. I recommend Photoshop, because all you have to do is log in once every 3 months to keep images working.

I've only used imageshack for an image uploader since forever, and it randomly happens, the database will lose images at times and you will have to reupload it.

keep things backed up. if there are images you want to hold on to but delete off your computer you can compile them in one folder, zip that up and upload it on a storage database like megaupload or rapidshare or mediafire. The files will be kept on your account. I have a free acconut on megaupload and remember reading that if you got stuff that hasn't been downloaded in the past 90 days it will be deleted off their database.
