Ultimate_Mawile submitted a new guide:

How to Play Ike in a Surprising Way - If you can't dazzle them with speed, do it with well timed combos.

Ike to many is a slow clunky character who's attacks are just to slow to land. I'm here to end those thoughts and bring light to new mostly unused ways to play Ike.

Here are some things that are a must to know about Ike:

*Great range with his sword attacks
*smash attacks are slow, powerful and his side and up smash has a large range
*He is slow but it can be dealt with
*when he recovers with his up special his range of grabbing the ledge is lowered greatly

OK now lets get into the tactics....

Not really a guide because there's barely any information.

Down throw to Aether is a bad combo for one reason: DI. It's too unsafe and you'll get punished. Higher-level players won't fall for it and will mix it up.

You are absolutely safest with Nair. If you see them going forward, switch to Fair and auto-cancel. They'll likely try a follow-up counterattack on you. Use it to shieldgrab into another combo.

Down throw to Aether should only be used on very heavy characters at low percents, because even if they DI away or towards you, they will likely get hit by it, because at low percents the DI is not strong enough to avoid Aether and they are big enough to get hit by it. A better option would be up throw to Aether, because the knockback is not as high as down throw and it is more likely that they will get hit by Aether.
But it has already been said, down throw to Aether is not a very good combo and should only be used if it is guaranteed or else you get punished.
