Smash Hater
So I recently remembered something I made 6 years ago and thought I should share it with people here because it is pretty cool
You should all know what a boomerang is, if not, look it up lol. Anyway in 2004 I believe I invented a new type of boomerang which has the same effect and can be made much cheaper at home and isnt flimsy like plastic ones you can buy at shops. Its simple;
Buy 2 of the wooden rulers you can get with school stationary packs. The ones which are flat on one side and have a slight curve on the top, like these ones http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/luminis/luminis0802/luminis080200025/2517607.jpg
This doesnt work on rulers which are flat on both sides.
Then, stick the two together to form a cross with the flat ends together and the curved ends are facing away from each other. Put the two as close to the exact centre of each other as possible to create a perfectly symmetrical cross. Bind the two together with thick tape or rubber bands. Rubber bands are preferential because they dont create large traingles of tape between the rulers which trap air. Use as many rubber bands as neccessary, folding it multiple times to make the band much smaller and stronger to hold it together.
Once the two are firmly secured by the bands and are close to symmetrical, its ready to fly
Basically, hold it by one end and throw it as hard as you can away from you. If you dont impart too much spin on it when you throw it, it will actually return back to you, no matter how hard you threw it. However the two most easiest ways have the most predictable result. If the following scenarios didnt work for you, it means you didnt throw/make it right
It does work lol.
Firstly, throwing it on a side. Where you throw it like a throwing knife so the blades are pointing to the ground and the sky. when you throw it this will fly straight before pulling up and away to the opposite arm you threw it with. This will continued in a big loop, rarely getting very high off the ground before making a big loop towards you. If you throw it with your right hand, it will take an anticlockwise loop, the opposite applies for the left hand.
The second method, throwing it horizontally. once you throw it, it will pull up very quickly and go quite high. From here, it will drift back down to where it was throw from, almost like a helicopter descending slowly backwards towards you
