Hey, guys, I'm running biweeklies at Duke for melee, but I have decided to get attendance for a charity ssb64 tournament. I know that this is a much older game, but what kind of entrance fee/prizing protocol can I setup to get people to go?
I have consider using a cans/dollar setup, something to the effect of say 4 cans of food or $5 to enter, but the hardest question comes in how the prizes will be handed out. Obviously, incentive must be given to win, but if I offer a prize, what is the point of the donations?
I have also considered using the cans as pure donation and any $ donations/$ entry fees be split between donation and the prize pool given to the top 3 placers.
Once again, I'm very unsure of how to proceed with this idea so any input is appreciated. The scope of this is largely to attract the surrounding area within 25-40 miles.
