How to do edge trump bair effectively

I have only been able to pull this off once. Does anyone know how to effectively do it? What do I need to input right stealing the edge?

make sure that you are jumping off the ledge by pressing AWAY and not DOWN, that makes a big difference

That option is very risky anyway. If I ledge trump, I wait for a recovery then punish respectively(high recovery:Up air, Grab ledge:up tilt/d smash etc).

It is but i have seen footage (ksev) pull it off as a true combo from edge trump to bair. This would great against Luigi or anyone else u can pull it off on. Giving another kill set up that's a true combo

if you do it right, you can ledge trump them and then do a double jump bair that lands on the stage (and auto cancels), if they dont DI or try to go straight to the stage, they get hit, otherwise they are forced to recover and you have landed with an autocancel so you are ready to dsmash their recovery. You can almost effectively cover both options.

I tried practing it in training mode but without a character hanging on the ledge and it seems like it goes pretty slow. Not sure but I think it goes faster with little to no lag after u trump them

if you want to practice trumping in practice mode use start.

Normally if you hit the cpu off they just jump back onto the stage and bypass the ledge, so hit them off and then press start, whilst the little start menu thing is up the cpu cant move, wait a second or two for them to fall, and then press start again to resume the game, they'll be in a position where they are forced to recover to the ledge, using that you can make them always grab the ledge, and thus practice trumping properly.
