How to approach with Falco?

What are some good strategies to approach with falco?

When is the right time to dair vs nair? When is the right time to approach with lasers?

Is there any guide (prefer a recent or in depth guide) for falco?

I'm new but improving very fast (I grew up with smash). I want to main falco but he is very technical and it can be challenging. Should I start with a less technical character, or grow with falco?

Use nair if you need the range, dair at pretty much any other time. The right time to approach with lasers is anytime you want to approach. There are some Falco guides stickied in the Falco boards that are pretty useful if yr starting out. Starting out with Melee is tricky regardless of yr character choice because it's such a technical game, Falco is a good character choice though.

I like to approach with laser about 2-5 character lengths away from my opponent, but there is no best way to approach with lasers. Its often bad to shoot lasers or try to SHFFL Nair/Dair immediately after the laser. Dash-dancing a second or two goes a long way.
