I'm a little curious on how often people would be playing this game compared to other smash titles. So post how often you think you will be playing for both Wii U and 3DS versions.

As much as Brawl (my most played entry) if not more.

This game has seemingly much better overall feel, making it better for competitive play, will have great online (plus I have much faster broadband since yesterday, compared to when Brawl released), has more customisation options, Smash Run looks addicting...really, there's no question.

I've poured somewhere between 800-1,000 hours into Brawl (last time I checked my current save file on my Wii U had 200 hours, and I know my old save file on my Wii was at least 600 hours at some point).

Being on a Smash Bros forum now will also help the longevity of the game for me.

I'll probably play the Wii U version more, but I'll be pouring plenty into the 3DS version too.

The only two titles I play these days are Brawl/Project M and soul calibur v.

I see myself playing smash 4 very very often, especially if the online is decent, all be there all day lol.

I won't be playing any of the other Smash games.

3DS: game of choice until WiiU verison comes out, after that 3DS verison will be something I play while watching something on TV or a 3DS only friends wants to play.

WiiU: Every chance I get.

Also, Melee, Brawl, and P:M have all occupied me through this college year when I had nothing to do during the 3 hour breaks I had some days. If I have similar 3 hour breaks, Smash 3DS will occupy me during the next college year in those situations when I have no work to do, and Smash Wii U will occupy me when I have no rush on college work at home.

I'm more hyped for this game than I have been for a game in a long time, including Brawl (and I really like Brawl). I didn't get competitive with Brawl until just the last year; I've always been a casual.

I would like to come in hot with SSB4 and get in on the competitive scene from the beginning, so I'll likely put in more time in this game than I have with Brawl and Melee. I'm loving how its looking right now.

I disagree with that. In my opinion, I thought brawl was my least favorite mostly because of its floaty controls and tripping(I still love brawl but I'm just saying).

As for me, I think I would spend time playing SSB4 more than brawl, 64 and possibly Melee. Even though I spent most of my childhood on Melee (As seeing my record on melee spent over a thousand hours) I think I would play SSB4 more often once it comes out. As for both versions, I would play the 3DS version whenever I am traveling or too lazy to get out of bed and I would play the Wii U version when I feel like playing on the big screen.

I only have had SSBB in the past, and I didn't play it for that long (thanks to technical issues with my Wii, or else I would probably still be playing it)

Anyway, more than any other title, even if I had them, considering I'm getting it for the 3DS, a handheld
Can play it anytime, anywhere

I'll probably play this way more than any other game too
I don't even play that many games anymore, so, yeah

I don't really see a reason for me to go back to the old ones besides nostalgia, with this being all but confirmed to be better competitively than Brawl.

at the least 400 hours before Wii U version, I got that many in Pokemon X in 2 months.
basically all my time away from work will be Smash...at least if it has a good online which it looks like it does. first couple weeks will likely see many 12 hour days/all nighters

I probably won't play that much online before I have unlocked all the chars myself
I don't wanna spoil it for myself after all :p

Ah, I see a lot of people have their hearts set on the new one already with no signs of looking back.

I'd advise not doing that, but that's just me.

Smash 4 will definitely be taking it's place as my most played smash game indefinitely, but the other games will still have their place.

When the 3ds version comes out
3ds > P:M > Melee >>>>>>>>> Brawl = 64
There's no reason to play brawl for me since P:M exists. No this is not a hater in me speaking. I just find it more fun. Wish I could have the stages from vBrawl back though.
I'd play 64, but I don't have it on virtual console and I only have 1 64 controller left.

When the Wii U version comes out.
Wii U > 3ds = P:M > Melee >>>>>>> Brawl = 64

More than likely the Wii U will end up being my most played version because of online features along with a small tournament scene in my town.

If a tourney scene grows because of the new smash brothers it will probably be Wii U > 3ds = Melee > PM >>>>> Brawl = 64

Gonna play this an obnoxious amount, especially if combos are back (sort of).

I get together with my friends every weekend to hang out, and melee is the go-to game. This just might change that.

Unless I pick up melee again and Project M, which I might down the line, it's going to be Smash 4 on the Wii U pretty much exclusively. In the end I might end up having played all the flagship games about the same amount of time.

I've spent hundreds of hours on Melee, maybe a thousand on Brawl for the past 7 years considering my friends and I have played it every once in a while since it's release. Though more recently I stopped playing Brawl and switched over to Project M, which I like much better.

Since Smash 4 has a lot of stuff to look forward to, and a ton of it is new, I'm sure that I'll end up playing this way more. And that's just me going by the Wii U version alone, with the 3DS version there as well the time might be doubled. Plus Mega Man. Simply put, I'll have a lot of fun times ahead. :4sonic:

If you mean by comparing this with other similar formats like Smash Bros. Then I would say I will be playing this a lot more than the likes of PS All Stars etc.

Compared to other Smash games? Well it all depends, really. If it has good stages and the gameplay works well, probably exclusively. If not, I'll probably swap between it and Melee. No reason to play Brawl anymore though, that's for sure.

Pretty much only play Project M most days and the occasional Melee. Brawl is fine but in a very small dose. Smash 4 will be a nonstop hype train. Although I doubt I'll be playing the 3DS as much when the Wii U version releases I think it was a good idea to release the handheld version first. Easier access.
