How NOT to Recover

While the dthrow fair chain combo is good, this is certainly something you have to always watch out for. It helps to know your relative distance to the stage, but when the camera zooms in, it can be hard to tell. Sometimes, it's not worth getting the last fair (7%) at risk of your entire stock. Just get 2 and head home.

Otherwise, you have to be very careful with avoiding the thunder being eaten, Predict how your opponent will recover, and use PKT2 either really early if they want to recover low, or fast fall and recover low if they want to recover higher.

EB360 is right about making sure you're still near the stage. The camera does zoom in and you kind of lose where you're at when you're doing this sort of thing. I should know, because I've done this against an opponent I went up against.

Just make sure you start doing your recovery plan early. If you plan to fast fall, fast fall ASAP.

Sometimes you might even want to get CLOSER to the opponent so that you get the sweetspot on PKT (the part that pierces).

That's why I try to only go for 3 fairs if I know that the stage is still below me. Ness's recovery can be difficult to work with sometimes.

On the third fair it's important to retreat with it while you're hitting them with it. Make sure you're holding towards the stage as soon as you start the third fair and drift as far back to stage as you can.

I feel stupid for not thinking of this sooner.

Although it's really funny when you triple fair them at full rage and they die off of the side blastzone from your fair because you kept moving forwards XP

It's most practical when you use the smashville platform to start the dthrow triple fair combo close to the blast zone. Or if you're playing near a walkoff.

Dude, SV is like my new favorite stage. Apparently Ness' fthrow KO's on that platform if you have enough rage. I managed to do it twice yesterday, once in tournament, eliminating Logic from losers quarters XD

Good job on eliminating Logic lol. That's really good. Yesterday I got 3rd at a small 30 person tournament. I really wanted to place higher but oh well. :/

Hey, they say losing is one of the best ways to get better. You're not learning much if you're just bodying people after all.
