Well seeing how there were almost 20 in the last game, I personally hope for/expect about 30+ stages.

As long as there's a Final Destination stage, I'm happy.

I'd like it if they included a totally flat and very large stage that didn't change at all while the match is being played.

Larger even than Final Destination. It would be perfect for practicing and Skill Only Brawls.

I hope every character gets their own stage, so that would make including old characters
Mario - Mario Circuit
Meta Knight - Halberd
Pikachu - Pokemon Stadium 2
Link - Bridge of Eldin
Yoshi - Yoshi's Island
Fox - Lylat Cruise
Donkey Kong - Rumble Falls
Pit - Skyworld
Ike - Castle Seige
Wario - WarioWare
Snake - Shadow moses Island

With other confirmed stages I'm hoping it will be

Bowser Jr. - Delfino Plaza
Tom Nook - Smashville
Ridley - Norfair

And other characters I hope will be

Kirby - Whispy Woods/Mystical Star Stage from SSBM
Luigi - Luigi's Masnion
Peach - Princess Peach's Castle
Bowser - Bowser's Castle
Samus - Tallon IV
Zero Suit Samus - SR388
Lucas - Fourside
Sonic - Green Hill Zone
Diddy Kong - Kongo Jungle/Jungle Japes
Captain Falcon - Mute City
Ganondorf - Gerudo Valley
Falco - Corneria
Ness - Onett
Ice Climbers - stationary Icicle Mountain
Zelda - Hyrule Temple
Jigglypuff - Poke Floats
Mewtwo - Mewtow's Lair
Pokemon Trainer - Pallett Town/ Route #
Mr. Game and Watch - Flat Zone
Marth - Akanea
Roy - Antoerh Castle

And hoping for:

Cel-Shaded Link - Wind Waker Island
Wolf-Midna Link - Twilight realm
A Metroid Prime Hunter - somewhere in Metroid Universe
Micaiah - anotehr Fire Emblem place
Black Knight - castle hall
Wolf O'Donnell - stationary Star Fox stage on aldn
Krystal - Venom
Captain Olimar - Pikmin themed level
Simon Belmont - 2 stages - clock tower ascending, castle outskirts
Isaac - Golden Sun themed
Lucario - some other Pokemon themed level
King Dedede - another Kirby themed level
King K. Rool - Gallplank Galleon
Ray MK 01 - Custom Robo themed
Megaman - Megaman themed

If all the characters I wanted made it in, there would be 55 stages including Battlefeild and Final Destianation. Realisitcally, I'd say around 50.

In Melee, the Character - Stage rate was 1.16. So, with a 40 character roster, I'd expect roughly 45-50.

40 stages would be great. When you think about it, that's quite a lot! It's pretty practical of a number, though, especially when you consider all of the characters in the game as well as the number of Past Stages there will be.

I am guessing around 35ish. Think about it, there is already alot of data stored on the disk because of the adventure mode. There cant be a redonkulous amount of stages.

FTR, platformed levels are more balanced because characters with good projectiles have an advantage on FD. Dreamland was more fair than FD.

40 + would be marvelous. Can't get enough stages. They've shown a lot so far so they need to eclipse that amount with stages we don't know about. So far a lot of the levels seem like winners. Melee had a lot of stages I didn't particularly care for (Venom, Ice climbers level) so the more stages Brawl has the better the good to suck ratio will be. Like out of 45 32+ good stages maybe?

With the delay, I expect no less than 40. In fact, anywhere from 40 to 55 is a logical number in my mind. With HAL, the developer, Game Freak, the Pokémon Company, APE, SEGA, Koonami, and two other developers I think working on the game. Plus the other 3rd party character's company, and defnitely a few more. ;)

Edit: More then 20=??? We got 13 on the site, one other on the demo, and 3 pending. that's 17. We're going to have AT LEAST DOUBLE THAT! Melee had 26 original stages, and 3 past stages, totally at 29. I EXPECT AT LEAST 40. 40 or screw it. I want the best gaming experience, and that is wat I'm getting, because Sakurai has and will deliver it! :)

Well if we look at ti logically theres pretty much 1stage for each franchise of characters so that would be awsome if there were something like 5 per character.

I agree, everyone has to get his own personal and recognisable stage, a stage that is well known by almost every Nintendo/Smash fan.

Bowser's Castle has GOT to be in, such a waste Melee didn't get one...:ohwell:

AND a C.Falcon stage that's not so d*mn ''hazardous''...like fighting on the Falcon flyer while it is following a F-Zero race, just like it was in Melee, only twice or thrice as big. Also you must clearly see the race, and when you fight with Time and no Stock at all, the F-Zero racers will have a Deathmatch and at the last 5 seconds of the match only one remains.
Each minute that passes by will be a lap, and you'll see and hear the F-Zero announcer announce the laps. Also, if you fight with Stocks, the F-Zero announcer will announce which player has lost a stock.
Also, different backgrounds, like Firefield, Greenplant and Big Blue and Casino...randomly chosen, you can't pick one...
Sorry got carried away, but that would be my dreamstage :)

I think that the amount of stages will be:
the amount of characters + 5 or so + some past stages....near a 40+ stages

The way I see it, the stages are equal to the amount of characters + transformations

In melee, 29 stages, minus the 3 classic, 26. With sheik, 26 characters.

So if we get the same 26 characters, (im asuming so) plus 10 new characters confimed, and im hoping for 10 more characters along that equals 46, so 46 stages.

I say 45-50 stages.
