I can do these at whim. It took me an initial 1 hour practice session and then subsequently about a month of playing to master. That being said. Ledgehop shield breaker is completely useless compared to every other piece of marth tec. It is only good if your opponent doesn't know that it exists. I'd hit my friends with it and they'd be like, "O that's cool." The next time I played I'd be hit out of it with no DJ and screwed. LH fair and LH uair both regrabbing the ledge are better options. This isn't like the shino stall, you are highly tangible when doing this even if you frae perfect let go of the ledge. You can be hit out of this. All that being said, I feel like a BAMF every single time I do it to someone.
Here's how you do it from the ledge. Press down (yes down, pressing away also works but you will experience it being much harder. You're gunna have to press this **** so flipping fast that pressing down vs away won't matter at all, so press down). Then press Y and then press B. SUPER FAST. If you can multishine, you'll find that the inputs are very similar except that instead of holding down (to shine), you only need to tap down once to leave the ledge.
I never did a successful one in normal melee. I learned by trying over and over again at 1/4 speed in training mode. I recommend slow melee for learning this initially. Get to the point where its easy in slow melee then ramp it up to the next highest speed. Think Goku upping the gravity in his spaceship on his way to namek when his one arm pushups and situps to 10,000 got to easy.
You also need to get used to, on reaction, upBing to save yourself if you F up. If you F up by fastfall DJ countering, you are absolutely super dead, the deadest marth in the world, no upB will save you.
Lastly I'd like to reiterate that this is useless. You would be better off second for second spending your practice time practicing literally anything else with marth. Realize that PPMD has never done this in tourny ever. I'm pretty sure Pewpewu and other marths haven't. M2K does occassionally (not in any GF anything), and when he does, nothing happens.
