So I found a Mr.l
But it replaces the neutral color and I want to keep neutral colors another example is dark link over black costume I don't mind replaceing the black costume but I would rather replace a worse recolor like red and blue(well in my opinion) and I can give a lot if examples so I want a full guide on how to do it sorry if this is one of those "noob threads" but I can't find any guide and people say its possible
THANK YOU

You have to individually export/import the textures using the Melee Toolkit. It sucks but it's the only way for now.

This isnt completely true. While I didnt really test this, I was too lazy to port over purple marths skin. So instead I copied the texture area from one to the other. So basically everything from the first image to the end of the last image. Worked for the only one I tried but that could just be that marth has him images in the same order. Its worth playing with since porting over textures takes forever.

Youre right. In fact, I do this all the time with my tecmo super bowl mods but there's one more problem. This doesn't work with characters like Peach who have different textures and models.

It's this way for a couple char's textures. Steelia or someone made a post about it a loooong time ago. I specifically remember you can do it with Marth and Falcon (but not all the costumes). I think the majority of costumes you can't do this with, but it's worth trying before attempting to copy each texture one by one.
