How do you get out of Jabs?

Whenever Little Mac taps A a bunch of times, I lose.
The whole vectoring, SDI, or DI in general is confusing as the game just came out, not to mention the control circle thing adds more variables to the mix.

Hold away from them to get knocked out of the jab.

It's worthwhile to note little mac's jab is more or less among the, if not the best jab in the game (at least, as far as I'm aware), so eating a lot of those to the face is a bad thing. Try forcing him into the air, he has about as much of an aerial game as the number of disposable opposable thumbs a dog has.

Nothing would make me happier than seeing a dog with disposable thumbs.
