How do I set a custome wallpaper?

Whenever I try to set a new wallpaper on my desktop it doesn't show. How can I fix this

What operating system do you use? If it is XP, you should be able to just right click on your desktop, select properties, go to the Desktop tab, click on browse next to the background dialog, and select the image. As long as you don't move it, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't appear. If it isnt working anyway, I would say check the file format. Open it in paint or the standard windows image viewer, and if that has trouble with it, then windows probably cannot interpret the image.

With any other OS I dont know any specifics, but it should be about the same deal.

you might not have active desktop enabled, but as long as your running atleast XP, i dont see why you wouldnt

search "enabling active desktop" on google
