Hiya. My Wii's disc drive recently began making ominous clicking noises every time it tries to read a disc, so I've recently begun loading all my Wii games through an external hard drive.

I've just come across the glorious world of Brawl modding (some of the skins out there are AMAZING!) and I'd like to get started. I've followed several tutorials at this point and have my SD card loaded up with Gecko OS, various stage and texture hacks, etc. However, when I try to run the game through Gecko OS and boot it up, it tries to boot the game from the disc drive, with no option to run the game through an external hard drive.

Is there any way to make Brawl+ and/or texture hacks (or any hacks in general) work on an ISO on an external HD, instead of a DVD? I haven't been able to find any information about this in the various tutorials out there.

Thanks!

Nope. I'm not aware of any method to put hacks through an SD on a brawl game running on an external drive if there is.

Skins. That's a weird name for textures. I never get used to it.

Good luck finding something that works!

Find a specific USB Loader that will load Ocarina codes, there's NeoGamma, WiiFlow, USB Loader GX... most USB Loaders these days support Ocarina (though if you want to break the 256 line limit NeoGamma is your best bet).

Use USB Loader CFG. It has support for over 256 lines of code and a nice gui. In the options for Brawl turn Ocarina Codes "On."

If you already have Gecko and everything else setup like the actual .gct, then you're set and when you load the game it'll load it with the codes.

Thanks for the tips, guys!

Well, I installed the Brawl+ Installifier and installed Brawl+ through that way, but when I hit Play, all it did was load up Gecko OS, which doesn't have an option for loading an ISO.

I tried to use the Configurable USB Loader, I went and turned Dolphin Codes on and tried to launch the Brawl ISO, but every time I hit Load Game, the Wii freezes. :urg:

Any other ideas to work around this?

Sorry man, we can't talk about backup launchers or ISO loading anything in this forum due to the legality.

You're welcome to ask on another site like GBATemp, however.
