How do i prevent getting matched with people from other states/countries?

I asked this same question in the main forum, and the mods said it was my fault and then locked the thread. So i'm asking here: How do i keep from getting matched with people from far far away. 9 out of 10 opponents are from places like Berlin, Mexico, Florida, or some other timbuktu place that causes mad lag.

When i get matched with people from neighboring states, or my own state, there is no lag.

So, how do i only get matched with people who have good connections?

You can't.
The game's matchmaking is terrible.
I have a very good connection yet I keep getting paired up with people on dial-up. There's just nothing you can do about it unfortunately. :/

I'm in the same situation. Oftentimes i just SD until i get someone with a good connection. But time and time again it's just people from Mexico, England, Germany, etc etc etc.

There's no reason for Nintendo to disallow region locking. Why are they doing this to us?

It's all random over there. You'll never know if the person you've been paired up against has a good internet connection, internet connection that's full of ****, from Brazil, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Russia, etc. We can't do **** about this, sadly.

the only way is to find people from your state and add em to your friend list.

matchmaking is entirely random in for glory or for fun modes.
