How do I play online?

I understand that I need to use kaillera etc etc, but what server (since the server that is posted in all the guides is down) and can I use mupen64k and play with someone who is using pj64k?

and no, project 64k cannot connect to mupen 64k, most people use Project 64k for US though.

it prevents the game from starting (Says server owner has a different type than others if I remember correct).
