How do I play as Sheik?

So I'm a in progress and I know some things about her, but I can't seem to figure out how you're supposed to play this character. I have a few days worth of time with her and I'm not so bad because I've already the basic idea of her through videos of other people playing her. What I want to know is what is her play style? Is she supposed to be overwhelming, get in then get out? Space her moves as often as possible and get damage that way? Wait for the opponent to flub up, THEN attack and punish? Or is there something else I need to do? I t would be much appreciated if someone could tell me more about her.
