I'm sorry but when I saw the title I had to laugh. And I will do so again, LOLOL!! Man I would be ticked if I were you.

Open the controller with the triangle screw driver thingy. Or just return it and buy a new one.

Here's a tip for getting a virtually "free" controller: buy a controller, put a broken one in the package, than return it for your money back and brand new free controller.

Quoted for truth. I did this a long time ago with my broken Pokemon Red cartridge, and the scam worked perfectly. I was actually considering doing this with my GBA SP (non-fully backlit version) to aquire a fully backlit version.

take a toothbrush and lightly wet it and just scrub a little bit around the edges of the button

if that doesnt help then unscrew it and clean it.

right behind you
open your controller and fix it.
I may be wrong, but doesn't opening the controller and tampering with it violate some warranty or law? :( anyway, depending on what kind it is, (some weird ones, like the transparent one break too easily) trade it in for a wavebird or a standard controller. Those r the ones i have the most success with.
