How do I enter a name like PPMD did?

Hey guys, I was wondering how PPMD put more than four characters for his name in Melee. I saw that he had EG | PPMD as his tag once and I've searched all over trying to find out how to do it but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This is not possible in an unmodified version of melee. There is AR codes allowing to do so. Notably the 20XX training pack includes the feature of using longer tags (http://smashboards.com/threads/the-...re-alt-stages-costumes-new-debug-menu.351221/)

There are probably other options, but the easiest way is to acquire the 20XX Hack Pack.

If you travel to the bottom of the first post in that thread you should find a section titled Name Tag Hacks.

Did the enter the names in beforehand? That's pretty cool. The only option I knew of was 20XX
