CC Downsmash, Marth killer or just holding the ledge. His recovery is super one dimensional if he's off stage without a jump.

In his lag after the up b you can ledge hop bair, or maybe even roll on and do something

Literally try to edgeguard the exact same way you handle Sheik. Hit with lasers while they're high enough, WD edgehog at the last second (USE INVINCIBILITY) and ledgehop b/dair in order to punish them for heading to the stage.

Don't give him the ledge ! Just be careful not to get hit off it, it's pretty much a disaster if you do. Refresh invicibility. Then punish his landing lag.
If he does a side-b close to the stage, you get a free kill with dair/bair, so be ready to punish him.

You can also ledgedrop shine to Bair or Dair.
(Westballz does it a ton)

Yes. But this is only good when you use the ledge invincibility to shine him safely. And shine>bair is better thanks to it's super tight window, shine>bair won't work if they DI away !

If u send marth out far enough and u know marth's double jump + Up b will only get him far enough so that he garbs edge or barely lands on stage, you can use the marth killer. If hes close enough to where he can land on stage barely, still continue with marth kilelr because hell up b, land on stage, youll be pushed to edge. From here u can ledgehop bair him right back off.

Also when doing marth killer you can hold ur light sheild like ur gonna marth killer him but when hes close enough just jump out for a bair to end him!!!

Also firebird stalling on the edge is a great way to renew invincability and hog the edge for when marth has to up b.

Marth killer if hes far enough, other wise i just hang on the ledge and refresh my invincibility with up b waiting for him to make is move, if hes starting to often stall waiting for your invincibility to run out ill often just do normal get up and try and cc d smash. You can sometimes just simply call out the sweet spot recovery and full hop to the ledge as a mix up, works on dumb Marths

If you spam lasers while he's far out, he'll need to recover low which leads to marth killer. If you can read his side be than any aerial should work (dair if you're feeling bold). when he uses his recovery, it takes him a while to grab the ledge so you can downsmash. also if he's about even with the stage, a spaced bair would work.

Alright so here's the breakdown:

You just sent the marth off stage, now you want to limit his options. Try to practice putting double lasers and stuff at the correct heights so that he has less forward momentum coming back. The more he side-b's the worse teh side b gets for stalling.

Now you have to ask, does he have a jump? If he does then your life is way harder. Try to predict the moment he will up-b, and if possible abuse firestall. In the end you want to do whatever you can to make him land on stage. The marth killer: (roll towards the ledge so that you are on the tip of the stage and facing the other way, they angle a lightshield behind you. don't angle it behind and down because you will fast fall and miss ledge). That marth killer is usefull agaisnt most players but it is possible for them to sweetspot still. It is very hard though so most will just go for stage. If they have a jump they can nair you, first hit knocks you off stage and second hit will hit you. All in all you have to weight what is best and try to read them if they have a jump. Again firestalling is great to cover almost anything.

Once You've got them to land on stage there is a mix up. You do a ledge hop then you have to choose to either dair or bair them.

If they are trying to do survival DI they will tank the bair, and make it back on stage with a jump. But if you read survival DI and hit them on their front witha dair instead, they will be popped up just barely offstage and ready to be spiked.

If they combo DI then the dair sends them too far away and they can jump back easily, but if they combo DI and you bair them then they eat a badly DI'd move and will get sent flying really far towards the blast zone. Possibly dying right there, but usually just too far to make it back on stage. If this happens just grab ledge and roll on to cover that.
