how do i change the momentum on thunder?

trying to b reverse thunder so i go offstage and the momentum change puts me back on, does someone have a guide or just how to do it?

You must input the Down-Special and then press backwards. If you input Down+Back+Special, pikachu will initiate Thunder and turnaround without any momentum change. To avoid that, make sure your Thunder input is with the analog stick pressed directly downward.
