In other words, what variety of games do you play? Just RPGs, Shooters, both, etc. or all?

EDIT: Goes for series' as well.

I will always try out whatever I can ^^ So, the important part is that it's a good game, normally, I don't choose what genre. Of course I've got preferences, but seriously, who hasn't?

EDIT: Okay, my favorite genres:

Action/Adventure
RPGs
Fighting games

My favorite series is Legend of Zelda, no doubt. I also enjoy Mario games, Final Fantasy and Tekken.

I play all, thanks for asking.

The downside of playing so diversely is that I can't get too good at a single game.

I like all RPG's (Fable, Oblivion, Mass Effect,) except for turn-based ones, I can't stand Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon.

I love FPS's and TPS's

I hate sports, puzzle, and racing games.

I don't play:

Rhythm games - after all the game just tells you which button to press a bunch of times and that's it

Puzzle games - They usually don't justify the cost and they're not my thing

Minigame compilations - No need to explain

Simulators - They bore me

Everything else is fair game.

I play a little of everything, except sports games. My friends loves them and begs me to play with him, but I can't stand them.

I play just about anything. The only genre I really haven't gotten into is the RTS, though I do find them interesting. I love anything with lots of competition, so my favorite genres naturally are Sports and Shooters. I'm also a huge fan of the JRPG, though I do enjoy the occasional "Western" Action-RPG. Gotta stay true to my Final Fantasy roots ;).

I try to be as diverse as I can and try new things as much as possible. I've tried to try out every franchise in the Smash Bros series, and I have done so thus far. I can't think of any that I dislike, except for Mario. I like some games, but the spinoffs get obnoxious and Galaxy wasn't even half as good as the past two big games (64 and Sunshine). The only franchise that has a rep in Smash Bros that I have not tried is Metal Gear. I'd like to try it out, but on the other hand, I don't have a PS3 or a PSP, nor do I think I will get one. And if I get really into the series...well, I'm going to want to spend $600 (or however much it costs now) on a PS3 and eventually buy the PSP, which has about 3 games that I'm interested in. I already have a Video iPod so I don't have much other use for it.

In any case, my favorite genres are probably adventure games and turn-based RPGs (except not Final Fantasy (I know, blasphemy), Fire Emblem and Pokemon mostly; Earthbound, or at least what I've tried of it, is pretty good too). But I'm really open to just about anything.

The only genres I'm not a huge fan of are FPSs and Sports. I don't like sports in real life all that much, so I'm not a huge fan of them in video games. FPSs are generally pretty boring to me because for the most part, you've played one of them, you've played them all. These days, people rave over games like Halo which bring nothing new to the table. It's sort of an overrated genre altogether, in my opinion. The only games I'm a big fan of that are sort of FPS are the Metroid Prime games (which Nintendo has defined as First Person Adventure, which actually makes sense, as stupid as it sounds).

I will play pretty much anything. Old games, new games, PC games, Console games.

FPS games, online games, rpg, third person shooter, resident evil. I play pretty much every genre. The only genre I haven't played much in a long time are RTS games. Though i'm considering getting back into them eventually.

I play nearly all genres except sports. Sport games are just too boring and pointless to me, since I don't like sports. However, wii sports every now and then is fine so I guess that's sort of contradicting?
