On the Japnese Smash page, there is a price listing at 6800 yen. At today's standards, that equates to 62.46 in American money. That's odd, why would it not come out to good old 49.99? Is it different in Japan? Or is there something we don't know about....

don't expect any consistency considering money exchange since the US dollar's value is dropping at an alarming rate, with no signs of stopping if things continue like they are now

Assuming that BRawl comes packaged with something, it could mean maybe 59.99 in the states. That could leave a few options open for bundled items, i.e. headset, collectors item, etc.

Japan is supposed to be one of the most expensive places to live, so I wouldn't be surprised if the prices were higher.

uhh...no one notices it probably because it's really freaking obscure information and people don't care about a $10 difference for the game? just sayin' lol..

I can't confirm the default game price off-hand, but I hope you do realize most things in Japan are a hell of a lot more expensive, this isn't really unusual.

A brand spanking new wii game with no offer is equivalent to about $80 over here in jolly old England.

Yeah, that sounds about right for pounds.
Wii game = 60 euro = 89 dollar (give of take a few cents). So don't worry...it's not that expensive.

yeah, it's about $65 US dollars. Things in Japan cost more than they're worth here. But in their standards, from the ratio of how much they get paid and how much things cost, it's about the same.

6800Yen is like $50 to us. Different amount, but same weight in our checkbooks.

Video games prices suck for aussies. Even with the american dollar coming in 10 cents higher than australia we are paying $99.99 for wii games, $60 for ds

Game prices in Japan are more expensive than they are in America. In fact, most things are more expensive in Japan than they are in America, chi, except for Japanese food =)
