How can I get my parents to realize I don't share their religion?

Rocking it out! \m/
Well, they should be respecting your decision to not follow a religion. If they don't like it than it's tough for them because they can't change your beliefs. So I would just tell them up front. Maybe catch them at a calm time, if you think they may freak out. Just tell them the truth.

Well, it looks like you have two options:
a)Don't tell your parents and keep on going to church.
b)Tell your parents and prepare for the consequences.

I'd personally go with b.

I'm happy that my parents didn't force any religion onto me. I made up my atheist views by myself. Oh, and I think this quote will get some people thinking:
Richard Dawkins in The God Delusion said:
There is no such thing as a Christian child, there is only a child of Christian parents.

Did you even read my post, or do you just not care? All you've done is repeat the same thing over and over. I'm ****ing proof that you're wrong, and you just don't care. I'm not going to go into a "who can post the same thing over and over" contest, if you're going to reply to me about this say something useful.
Then sorry Eor for repeating, but no one can say "you're wrong" 'cause no one is owner of truth.

Red Exodus just try to talk to your parents, that'd make it.

YOU have the choice of your religion/non-religion. Your parents can not hold any plausible argument that God does exists. Religion seems
far fetched because there is no proof for or against it. Because of that, arguments for or against religion is so stupid and baseless and has little/no understanding of opposing sides. Do not argue like a bigot no matter which side you choose.

Stupid Religious Fanatic: You do not believe in God? Don't you FULLY believe in the bible? YOU are going to hell, infidel!

Stupid Strong willed Atheist: God is all a fairy tale. Because the Catholic church had crusades. And Mormons smell bad.* Rant about his misconception of religious groups*

General non stupid Catholic view: Catholics believe that God is love. And by loving people, you love him.
Whether you believe in scripture, or not.

Be assertive and not aggressive to them, and be straight-forward.

Just tell them "Mom, Dad, I appreciate you wanting me to go to church but im not a Christian." or something, let it sound less cheesy rofl

I was successful ^.^

I told her last night, just before she went to bed and she understood completely, although, she is worried that I'd stay up until 2-3am on Saturday nights.

Everything is cool now.
